Des Nichols is the Director of Outreach for The Fine Print Project. Since he was young, he has seen the gaps in political and legal literacy and developed a passion for helping others better understand the systems that shape their lives. He is committed to empowering both present and future generations to become more informed and engaged in the political landscape around them.
Currently a junior at Shrewsbury High School, Des serves as Class President, where he works to foster a culture of awareness, collaboration, and leadership within his community. His involvement in music ensembles, multiple sports, and leadership seminars—along with continued volunteer work—has shaped him into a well-rounded and driven leader.
Coming from a family with three generations of political involvement, Des has developed a deep appreciation for civic engagement. Whether it is researching elections, campaigning at the polls for his uncle, or seeking opportunities to expand his understanding of public policy and governance, he consistently pursues his passion for politics with energy and purpose.
In his free time, Des enjoys playing baseball, lifting weights, being the lead singer of his band, and playing leisurely card games with friends and grandparents.
